What is Role of CNC Technology in 5G Communication Equipment

Why Do We Need to Rebuild Facilities for 5G?

With the new 5G download speed of 10Gbps, the traditional wifi can no longer meet the requirements. The current 4G download speed is 1Gbps, and some can reach 10Gbps, but as an individual user, it needs to reach 10Gbps, so the current 4G can only meet one user. Therefore, the current facilities can not meet the 5G requirements, and all need to be rebuilt, and the existing computer room is not enough, and needs to be rebuilt. In order to rebuild these facilities and machine rooms, many industrial components need to be redesigned and tested. This development process takes a long time from the prototype stage to mass production. Many precision machined metal parts will be involved, such as sheet metal steel cover, aluminum cover with different surface treatments, such as powder coating.


5G Equipment Sheet Metal Processing

For sheet metal, we have laser cutting, sheet metal bending and wire cutting for the ribs designed on the parts. Different bending tools can process different part shapes. If there is undercut, there will be different bending tools to bend the part. This tool will be a small curve tool. If a small curve tool is still too large for the part, there will be a larger curve tool. Sharp tools can be used when there are obstacles. Because sheet metal bending is a very important technology, if the precision machining bending process is well controlled, it will not affect the quality of the parts, the tolerance will be large, and the parts will have deformation problems. The precision machining in CNC machining of CNC aluminum housing for replacing intelligent equipment will involve two main processes: wire cutting and EDM.

 

– 1.For wire cutting, you can produce almost any part through one wire cutting. Use electric spark to cut conductive materials from aluminum and copper to graphite. EDM technology allows you to obtain extremely high precision when producing extremely precise parts at very high cutting speed. Because only one tool is needed, the cost is low. It is also an alternative to milling, turning, grinding, turning or broaching. More importantly, you can use multi-purpose EDM to complete a series of different processes, even unmanned operation.

– 2.For EDM metal undercut, unlike plastic parts, metal cannot be bonded like plastic when it is split. For metal parts, EDM undercut is widely used or welded. It will be a very slow process to discharge materials with brass tools and complete the EDM process. EDM can help to solve many problems found in precision CNC machining: hardness. In the traditional process, the metal workpiece is processed by special grade quenched tool steel under soft annealing to facilitate cutting.

 

With the decomposition of dielectric fluid, the risk of unstable discharge increases. Controlling electronic equipment can compensate for certain risks, but the only real solution is to continuously pump clean dielectric fluid through the cutting area to flush it. The more conductive particles in the fluid, the more difficult it is for the machine to maintain a stable electrical threshold in the spark gap.

 

Some metal shells for cosmetic covers will pay more attention to the surface quality after EDM. After EDM, the surface will be rough and black. If the surface is large and can be polished to smooth, the manufacturer will treat the surface to ensure good quality. For those parts used for outdoor activities, some post-treatment can help improve the service life. For example, anodizing and powder coating can be used for hard anodizing and chemical film and sealing after completion. Outdoor powder coating can be selected for powder coating, especially for the part that has been used outdoors for several years or decades. Both of these treatments can help cover the processing trace to obtain a better appearance.

 

The world is moving forward, and innovation never stops. Processing technology also needs to improve processing methods and specifications. There is still a long way to go to achieve true precision processing, in order to benefit and realize the ideas of every designer.
